Work WeekendsWork "Weekends" are the second Saturday of the month, usually followed by a membership meeting at 7:30 P.M. Note: The Board of Directors is currently experimenting with first Wednesday of the month board meetings. Check with the railroad office for details! Besides the second Saturday of the month, someone is usually in the shop every Saturday during the warmer months of the year. Don't be surprised if the work spills over to Sunday. Various projects are scheduled to be worked on throughout the year. See some the projects on our Current Projects page. There is always something being worked on at the Midwest Central Railroad. Changing of the StacksIn the summer of 2005 the Midwest Central Railroad was host to a movie production. As part of the movie, the smoke stack of Engine #6 was changed to a taller, more sharp edged stack. The two photos above show both stacks on the floor of the shop by Engine #6. The stack on Engine #6 prior to the movie is the shorter, more round stack. The shorter "Original" stack was brought out of storage and the taller "Movie" stack removed from the smoke box. The original stack was put back on Engine #6 for the 2006 season and since then has been the permanent smoke stack. Upcoming Work Saturdays for 2008:
